State Cup Success and Tournament Success in Spring 2007

May 29th, 2007

LISC Families,

Over the past few months our own LISC teams have experienced success at tournaments as well as State Cup.  In April our U10 boys blue, U14 boys, and U15 boys placed second at the Mid America Cup; our U12 girls placed 2nd at our own LISC Spring Invite in May; our U12 girls and boys premier made it to the Semi’s at the Best of the Midwest Tournament which is run by the Chicago Magic over Memorial Day; our U10 boys blue and U15 boys won the Morton Memorial Classic and the U14 boys won the Best of Midwest in their respective brackets over Memorial Day Weekend!

Also, our U16, 17, and 18 boys performed well at State Cup.  Our 18 boys lost in the first round after 2 overtime periods on PK’s to Ajax out of Chicago; our U17 boys beat Inter FC on PK’s in the first round after 2 overtime periods and then lost in the 2nd overtime to CISA out of Peoria; our U16 boys made it to the 3rd round after beating Schwaben Olympics 4-1 and Kickers Blue 5-1 and eventually lost to CIS Rush 0-4.  Well done boys!

Important Central Illinois Youth Soccer League Updates

January 8th, 2007

LISC Family,

In an attempt to communicate things more clearly please read the following information.  Starting in the spring of 2007 there will be 5 scheduled league dates.  Those dates are: 3/25, 4/15, 4/22, 5/20, 6/3, and the make up date is 6/10.  Out of those five regular Sunday dates you will only play on four of them.  If at the scheduling meeting, an age group unanimously agress to schedule a differnt Sunday or play a Saturday-Sunday tournament weekend that is permitted as long as everyone is in agreement.

This is being done so teams will know which days they must play league games and will need to leave four of those dates open unless they agree upon what was mentioned in the previous sentence.  This will also hopefully eliminate the schedule changes the week of league games since there will now be a $100.00 fee per change, payable before the next game.  To learn more about the CIYSL rules or to find your teams schedule then please visit their website at http://www.ciysl.com/   Thank you!

Results from the Mid America Cup April 29-30th

May 3rd, 2006

LISC family,

It was a great weekend for LISC!  All of the teams that participated in the SFC Mid America Cup this past weekend won at least two of their games over the weekend.  The U13 boys team won every game!  The U14 girls won two games on Sunday playing with 10 players! The U15/16 boys team won two games on Sunday and the U18 boys team won two games over the weekend and just missed the championship game.  Overall, it was a great weekend for all of the teams that made the trip to Mossville.  More so than the wins, I was very impressed by each teams play and how they represented the club.  Well done!

All the best,

Mike K.
