Assistant Director of Coaching

U11 Boys West Head Coach and U18/19 Boys Head Coach

Josh Alford spent his first 14 years living in Argentina, were he played soccer for several clubs such as Club Atletico de San Migel del Monte, Club de Lobos, Huracan, and Velez. Josh went to high school in upstate New York were he continued his soccer career. During college he played for Parkland College and Olivet Nazarene University. At Parkland he was a two-time all-conference first team and a two-time all-region first team player. He has coached many clinics and camps for Parkland and Olivet.

Since living in Champaign, he has been very involved with the community. Josh has worked with the unit 4 school district and the Champaign Park District. In the Fall of 2006, Josh was the Ass't. Coach for the Parkland College Women's team.  He is currently the boy's head soccer coach at Champaign Central HS and the Assistant Director for L.I.S.C.  Josh also has his USSF National "D" License as well as the NSCAA National Youth Diploma.  In the Fall of 2007, Josh led the Maroons to the Regional Championship Title.

Philosophy: As assistant director, Josh believes that playing soccer should begin at an early age. He believes that at early levels of development, it is important for players to have fun and enjoy the game while learning core fundamentals. By promoting teamwork and strategy individual players can persevere to higher levels of achievement. Soccer can teach an individual how to work with others on and off the field.
