Kip McDaniel ||
Team: U11 Girls East/West Co-Coach
Background: Kip was born in 1984 and
grew up in Champaign. He has five siblings, Shane, Tad, Keely, Drew,
and Jaes. Drew played for Little Illini Soccer Club under coach Eddie
McAuley.
Playing Career: Kip played for the
Little Illini Soccer Club for eight years under coaches Stu Meacham and
Mark Herriott. He then played high school soccer at Central High School
from 1998-2002 under coaches Adam Jenkins and Kirby Crawford. He was
Co-captain and starting sweeper his senior year. As a senior in high
school, Kip was awarded Big 12 High School All-Conference and 2nd Team
All-Area. After high school, Kip played two seasons for the Midwest
United Football Club under coach Mike Wilson. During Kip’s junior
year at Illinois State University, he coached several recreational
soccer teams through the Town of Normal and for Game Time Gym II
located in Bloomington, Illinois. He also was an assistant coach for
John Rice in Colorado for the Denver Kickers. In 2005, Kip played the
season as the captain, assistant coach, and starting sweeper of the
Illinois State University Men's Soccer Team. He was also the manager of
the Illinois State University Women’s Soccer Team under former
coach Pete Kowall. Kip has the NSCAA Advanced
Regional Diploma.
Coaching Philosophy: Kip’s
philosophy in coaching is to provide first class soccer lessons
focusing on touch, speed, endurance, shooting, agility, strength,
teamwork, and especially fun. Each player will improve their soccer
skills and learn to love the game of soccer. Kip’s personal
experience has shown to respect coaches, keep it positive, and practice
as if you were playing in a game. Kip will assist each player to
develop to their optimal ability and to promote a positive team
environment where self esteem is enhanced.
