Megan Bushue |
U9 Girls and U13/14 Girls Head Coach
Personal: Megan was born and raised here in
Champaign, IL. She has two brothers, Cole
who is a fellow LISC coach and head coach for the Centennial High School boy’s
soccer team and Jacob who is a 1992 national team pool player and midfielder at
Centennial High School. Megan graduated from Centennial High School in 2003,
Parkland College in 2004, and the University of Illinois with a degree in
Kinesiology in 2007.
Playing
Experience: As an 8 year old, she was on the first U-12 LISC all girls team started by her parents, Doug and
Katy. Megan
played with LISC all the way
through and was a member of the first undefeated team in LISC history
which was the U-18 girls team coached by Eddie McAuley. She was a
member of the ODP Illinois State
team from 1999-2002 and was also was a four
year starter at Centennial High School. During her HS playing career she received all area, all conference, all sectional, and all state honors
all four years while playing for Mark Sikora at Centennial. After high school she received a scholarship
to play at Eastern Illinois University.
Due to injury, she was forced to refrain from such a high level of soccer
and sit out for a year. Megan then decided
to play at Parkland College under Seamus Reilly and Adam Jenkins.
Coaching
Experience: Megan began her coaching career while in college and was
assigned to the U-10 girls team and has been with that same team ever
since. The character and dedication of
these girls brought her back to the sport when she thought nothing else
could. Her team has won numerous tournaments
and league championships. Megan is currently
coach the U-14 and U-9 girls’ teams and also was the assistant for the
Centennial High School girls’ team in 2006. Megan currently holds a USSF "E" License.
