U13 Boys Co-Coach and U12/13 Boys Co-Coach
Personal Background:
Philip started his playing career at age five in the Charleston
recreation league. At age nine he
started playing club for Panther Soccer Club.
When he was thirteen he moved up to Champaign and began playing
LISC. Philip played on two LISC teams
that went to Europe. He was the captain
of both his LISC team and the Centennial Varsity team his senior year. Philip attends the University of Illinois
and is a Finance major in the College of Business.
Coaching Background: Philip began coaching in the Spring of
his freshman year in college. He helped
out with a U-11 boys team. Since then
he has coached a U12/13 boys team and currently is a co-coach of the U-13 boys
team. He holds the USSF “E” coaching
license and the NSCAA National Youth Diploma.
Coaching Philosophy:
Philip believes it is important to start developing kids at a young
age. He thinks that every effort needs
to be made to keep the game fun for the kids.
By keeping the game fun he thinks the players will stay around a lot
longer. Philip also believes that the
teamwork and competitiveness gained from soccer will help the kids throughout
their lifetime.
