Personal Background:  Philip started his playing career at age five in the Charleston recreation league.  At age nine he started playing club for Panther Soccer Club.  When he was thirteen he moved up to Champaign and began playing LISC.  Philip played on two LISC teams that went to Europe.  He was the captain of both his LISC team and the Centennial Varsity team his senior year.  Philip attends the University of Illinois and is a Finance major in the College of Business.

Coaching Background: Philip began coaching in the Spring of his freshman year in college.  He helped out with a U-11 boys team.  Since then he has coached a U12/13 boys team and currently is a co-coach of the U-13 boys team.  He holds the USSF “E” coaching license and the NSCAA National Youth Diploma.

Coaching Philosophy:  Philip believes it is important to start developing kids at a young age.  He thinks that every effort needs to be made to keep the game fun for the kids.  By keeping the game fun he thinks the players will stay around a lot longer.  Philip also believes that the teamwork and competitiveness gained from soccer will help the kids throughout their lifetime.
