Orange & Blue Fall Cup Tournament

Field Marshals

      Field Marshal is an essential part of the tournament. The responsibility of the field marshal is to check in all the players and to start the games on time and to set up the corner flags at the beginning of the day and remove them at the end.( the flags are located in the brown shed.) Each  field marshal will be responsible for 2-3 fields.. The field marshals will be scheduled in 4 hour time slots by a coordinator.  As the field marshal you will need to arrive at least 40 mins. before they are scheduled to start. Report to main table brown shed see site coordinator. When you arrive pick up a fanny pack and phone from the site coordinator( the first set of field marshals for the day) or the field marshal you are relieving .(vest may or may not be available, it would be helpful to wear a bright color) The fanny pack includes: score cards referee money and phone list.  All games are 30 min halves, (5 min half), except U9-10 are 25 min. halves.

 

?         Verify the game card should have the correct teams, field and time on it. The card goes to the center referee, they hold the responsibility of filling in the scores and the responsibility of the winning teams manager to make sure they get to the scoring/ communications area at the end of the game.

?         Referee pay is listed on the envelopes. Give the center referee payment before the game starts.  The center referee will be responsible for distributing the money to the assistances.

?         Collect a game ball from the home team at time of check-in. 30 mins prior to the start of the game check-in each team. Check the players cards with the player calling out each players name. The ID cards stay with you until the game is over and then confer with the center referee. If any red cards were issued that card needs to be pulled. These cards go to the director or site coordinator, the rest are returned to the coaches. The players should also be checked for shin guards and cleats. (shin guards must be completely covered, no steel cleats are allowed, aluminum studs should be checked for sharp edges). No jewelry of any kind, earrings, hair clips. Shirts should be tucked in.

?         Inform the coaches that their players are to warm-up off the fields while the preceding game is taking place. Remind the coaches the center referee will forfeit the game if a team is more than 5 mins. Late for the scheduled game.

?         The home team is to change their uniform if there is a color conflict

?         Injuries, alert the medical staff by phone.

In the event of problems with coaches, parents or players call for help from the site coordinator or director.
