Little Illini Soccer Club Board Meeting

Attendees: Robert Baird, Amy Hall, Rick Hazelwood, Amy Jenkins, Pat Kemme, Karl Newman, Gary Sullan, Ron Walton, Mary Beth Warinner, and Mike Wingo

Absent: Derek Vannice

1. July 14th minutes approved with corrections.

2. Karl Newman appointed as Interim Director of Coaching

3. Search committee for DOC formed:  Ron Walton, Derek Vannice, Adam Jenkins, Karl Newman and Robert Baird

4. No contracts or hires will be made until the new board of directors is installed later in August.

5. Karl encouraged everyone to look for coaches and DOC applicants.  Ben Meuller stated that the most important issue was making sure that he had good coaches for all of the teams.  The most pressing issue are the U18 girl teams that need to be entered in various college showcase tournaments and have their college recruiting profiles completed.

6. Trey started to implement the Park/Dodds agreement.  Need to get a list from Trey of what is unfinished and must be completed, including U18 roster.

7. Fall Cup -76 teams have registered. Deadline is Aug 30th

8. Rick Hazelwood attended sports commission with Mayor Schweighart

9.  Ron investigating restaurant participation in the Fall Cup

10.  Amy Jenkins – presented a policy standard for teams reimbursing the coaches.  This pilot policy approved as a minimum spending limit for the coaches.  Policy will be presented to Parent Reps and placed on the web.

11.  Election ballot turnout was 50% of the membership.  Ron organizing a get together after the election for new and old board members.

12. Gary purchasing web based QuickBooks at $16/month to handle LISC accounts.  Debbie Greco working with Gary to update the books.  Three users will have access to the program, providing greater backup and security for the club’s financial records.

13. Scholarship – 20 applicants – Gary will write a letter indicating that the applicants must supply justification of need.  Discussed procedure where financial committee will make scholarship selection unaware of the applicant’s name.
