1. Minutes were read and approved with some corrections.
2. Amy presented several offers from vendors who wish to be a part of the Fall
Cup. The board left it up to her to make the decisions.
3. The board decided that teams may conduct individual fundraisers at the Fall
Cup but they will contribute the same percentage of profits as the
4. Land Development Report: The estimated costs for establishing fields on 30
acres are $56,000. The estimated costs for annual maintenance is $19,000 ($125
an acre). While these are just estimates from experts in the field, they give us
an idea of how much money it will cost.
5. The following is not for public discussion at this time. The following are
the steps that we plan to follow if progress is made at each step. It is desired
that a legal document be drawn up by the end of September.
a. The club has entered an agreement of confidentiality with Laura Kalman as we
move further into negotiations.
b. The next step is a meeting of the board and members of Laura Kalman’s
organization.
c. Following that meeting an exploratory agreement that outlines the concepts of
the agreement should be drawn up. One of those concepts which is that the club
has access to the fields regardless of what happens to the rest of the planned
development of Laura Kalman’s organization.
d. The board and land acquisition committee will begin a publicity campaign
aimed at the members of the club. We will need the assistance of the Lifelines
staff to make the first meeting of the parents successful.
6. Gary Sullan reported that he had received several scholarship applications
for the board to review at the next meeting.
7. Treasurer’s report. Gary reminded everyone that we changed the way we pay for
tournaments. Each team gets $60 per player per season and any shortage will have
to covered by the team.
